SAP Planning

Proper planning is critically important to the success of any system implementation. A major reason for our firm's long-term success has been our emphasis on helping clients plan their implementations in detail. Our planning capabilities fall into two categories: generic and product-specific. Generic planning involves such activities as:

  • Definition of user requirement
  • Mapping of workflows
  • Cost/benefit analysis of alternatives
  • Recommendation of network, hardware,and software tools and configurations
  • Development of detailed system specifications

Many of our clients choose to do much of the initial planning on their own. They often come to us with specifications already developed to some degree. If these specifications call for implementation of SAP products, there are several SAP-specific planning tools that we employ to complete the planning process . These SAP-specific tools are:

For clients interested in taking advantage of all of the features and capabilities of SAP, Myers-Holum offers the SAP-ServicePack, which:

  • Educates clients about SAP products, examining in detail the specific client needs addressed by these product.
  • Produces a detailed deliverable in the form of a workplan - i.e. a "roadmap" for the client's implementation of SAP products.
  • Provides estimates of the accounting and IS resources that will be needed for specific implementation tasks, thereby allowing clients to precisely budget resources required for varying implementation scenarios.

Some clients require somewhat less assistance with BroadVision implementation planning. They already know exactly what they want. Their focus is on installing the product and accessing appropriate data quickly and cheaply. However, they also want guidance on their customization efforts, as well as estimates of resource requirements and time-to-completion.

SAP - Implementation
